As someone who believes creativity only occurs in far-from-equlibrium states, I'm definitely not intending to argue for equlibrium. I would argue that postmodernism is artistic equlibrium (compared to Modernism's far-from-equlibrium state), and that the postmodern equilibrium is breaking down, and that's why we're moving into a new far-from-equilibrum state of creativity I and others are calling Metamodernism.
